The Christchurch terrorist attack – and the fact that the perpetrator was Australian – casts a harsh light on the presence of Islamophobia and other forms of prejudice in Australia. In this forum, we will discuss the origins, politics, nature and experience of Islamophobia in Australia. As well as providing background and academic analysis of the topic, the meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss personal experiences, coping mechanisms, and solutions. The meeting is especially designed for Indonesian students, but we also encourage participation by other members of our academic community.
